Cool! This is a bit different from my topic, so if you want, you can start your own topic to show people your version! (credit for original code would be appreciated)
What's different? I just followed your tutorial
You used a different type of ASCII art and a different block. You basically created a different tutorial. It's a cool tutorial, but I think it's different enough that I'd be fine with you creating your own topic to show people how to do it. (Credit would be nice, though )

You have to replace the ( ) with for it to work.

A boolean is passed to the custom block simply as a true or false value - you can't pass a boolean expressio to be repeatedly evaluated. So using wait until event will either do nothing and the script continues or it will get stuck at that block waiting for a fixed false value to change.
Okay, thanks!

I've been working on a clicker, and at multiple points during the tutorial, the person giving the tutorial leaves until you reach a certain goal. Here's the block I made to execute this task:

define leave until <event>
broadcast [walk from v] and wait
wait (1) secs
broadcast [on v]
wait until <event>
broadcast [off v]
broadcast [walk to v] and wait
wait (0.25) secs

Then during the tutorial, I execute this block:

leave until <(Egg Breaks) > [4]>

However, when I run the block, it runs the first four blocks of the custom block, then never passes the “wait until <event>”, even when the requirements are met. Now, I would normally assume that one of my broadcasts is stalling the script in some way, but here's the catch: When I simply put the code that the custom block runs directly into my script, then replace <event> with <(Egg Breaks) > 4>, it works like a charm. Somehow, the raw script could easily run my code, but when it ran through a custom block, it got held up at “wait until <event>”. Anyone know why this is happening?

@Nambaseking01 You always provide a different point of view in a good way! Perhaps “_pride_” would be fine? I understand what you mean about it being “_LGBTQ+_” but aren't there SO many other projects and even ST announcements that use this exact term? Also if parents don't want their children finding out about different genders that is just unfair to the child especially if the child happens to be LGBTQ+, either way it would be a very confusing situation. I don't know anyone under 8 who does not know what it means, even if they don't agree or support it.

There's no chance that children will find projects that are relating to LGBTQ+ if they don't even know what that means - they'd have to search it up. And if the child is LGBTQ+, I doubt the parents wouldn't tell the kid, but of course, if that happens, then it's not Scratch's fault. Additionally, as for what you said about the Scratch Team taking an official standpoint on the subject, I never really liked them doing so anyway. I believe everyone has the right to know about other genders, no matter what type they are, and I also believe the Scratch Team is free to share their views on things like that, but I just hope they don't make it really obvious.

For instance, if someone makes a studio that everyone should become homophobics, then the Scratch Team can probably comment or send an alert to the owner of the studio regarding the fact that they respect LGBTQ+. However, immediately deciding to make an announcement about it that a major part of the community will see is not that good of an idea. At the very least, if the Scratch Team really wants to make announcements on mature stuff like that, then they could add parental control options that their children won't be able to see those topics.

Additionally, one of my older points still exists: if someone doesn't know what pride means, then there's close to zero chance they know what the LGBTQ+ community means. It's a group of capital letters each standing for something, with a plus sign next to it - that would be extremely confusing for users who have never heard of the term before. Even _pride_ is okay, because it's just a word, and many users would probably just leave the fact alone. But in this case, it's just strange and maybe even wrong, considering the points I made on parents' wishes.

I still think, however, that having a pride emoji isn't really a move in the right direction - I'm only giving tips to you for if this really gets implemented (which, to be really honest, I heavily doubt).
Thanks for your input! There are a lot of different points of view in this forum topic, and I'm glad you're making yours known- There are definitely a lot of problems with adding these emojis, and without posts like yours, I wouldn't know that.

No Support.

What Scratch *really* needs is support for normal emoji. I'm fairly certain the reason they don't is because they don't properly support 4 byte UTF-8 characters. This is why emojis break the forums and don't work in comments.

Now, if they were to support proper emojis, that immediately lets people use the Rainbow Flag Emoji and Transgender Flag Emoji because both of those are within Unicode.

Also just not having support for 4 byte characters is a bad idea in general. At some point Unicode is going to have to allocate space in that range for much more important characters than Emoji. It's like supporting TLSv1.3, HTTP/2, modern compression methods and strong preferred encryption ciphers, are they a necessity right now, no. Will it make keeping the site from breaking further down the line much easier? Oh yes.
Okay, Unicode is a great idea.
